Temp to Hire Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health Setting

Job Description

TEMP to Hire RN Program - opportunity to start in a temporary position and potentially transition into a permanent role with full benefits - including health coverage, PTO, and retirment contributions - we are offering a 6-month pay adjustment program to ease the change from your temp rate to your permanent hourly rate.

$60/hour

Transitional rate (still temp status; no benefits or shift differentials)

Month 6

$55/hour

Transitional rate (still temp status; no benefits or shift differentials)

Month 7

Hourly rate calculated depending on experience and education

Full-time regular employee with full benefits, including generous shift differentials

 

After the initial 13-week assignment if the RN and the facility are both satisfied, the nurse will have the option to move forward into the transitional rate period. After 6 months of temporary employment, if the facility and the RN are still satisifed the facility has the option to offer a permanent rate and the RN would be eligible for shift differentials and full benefits. 

 

NOTE:  Applicants employed by any UHS facility within the last 6 months are not eligible.

Highlands Behavioral Health System is an 86 bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in Littleton, CO.  Highlands features individual units for adolescents, adults, and seniors, and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. www.highlandsbhs.com

 

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a registered professional nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine mental health needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Safely prepare, administer and monitor results of medications and treatments.
  • Accurately document and communicate of patient information.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and continuity of services.
  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols and nursing standards in all patient interactions.

Requirements:     

    • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse through the State of Colorado Board of Registered Nursing (or eligible to receive or renew).
    • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or Bachelor's degree program. 
    • At least one year of clinical experience in psychiatric setting required .
